Woman allowed to keep acreage; Town’s request to have sale ruled invalid rejected again

A Hanson woman will get to keep four acres of conservation land she bought after the town mistakenly put it up for auction in 1998. The Supreme Judicial Court yesterday upheld a Land Court decision rejecting Hanson’s claim that the sale to Melody Lindsay was invalid.

2 years before end of term, Hazlett quits

Williamsville Mayor F. Ray Haz-lett has resigned with two years left to his term. In a briefly worded letter addressed to Village Administrator Sally Kuzon, Hazlett said only that his resignation was effective as of June 22 and that he was leaving office for personal reasons.
